URGENT VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT IN WIDOWS AND ORPHANS EMPOWERMENT ORGANIZATION (WEWE)

Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is a duly registered incorporated Trustee, a women-led, local not-for-profit, faith-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), and is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of Finance Associate.  

WEWE wishes to recruit a talented and God-fearing Finance Associate who believes in local organizations, believes that not all Nigerians are corrupt, believes in the ingenuity of Nigeria, and that the best of the Nigerian can be better than the rest.

Position:                                 Finance Associate  

Location:                                The successful candidate will be based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • S/he will assist with the processing of financial transactions.
  • S/he will assist in ensuring that financial transactions and reconciliations are processed in line with relevant policies and procedures.
  • S/he will assist in ensuring financial reports are timely provided according to financial guidelines.
  • S/he will assist in maintaining financial records and monitoring systems to record and reconcile expenditures, balances, payments, statements, and other data for day-to-day transactions and reports.
  • S/he will assist in selecting and entering data from a wide variety of documents, verifying accuracy by checking sources, and making necessary calculations, and corrections.
  • S/he will assist in advising staff members on all aspects of travel claims and other financial matters.
  • S/he will perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The compensation for this position is between N100, 000 to N150, 000 per month, subject to negotiation, and will be prorated to the number of days worked also subject to statutory deductions.  

QUALIFICATION, REQUIREMENTS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of accounting and finance experience.
  • Working knowledge of Quick-book accounting package.
  • A Second-class upper or high credit will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to travel and work in difficult settings, including remote rural areas of the state.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or similar software.
  • Well-organized, with the ability to track multiple activities and deadlines.
  • Experience in providing administrative leadership and support to work for teams.
  • Applicants must be based in Rivers State.
