JOB VANCACY IN WIDOWS AND ORPHANS EMPOWERMENT ORGANIZATION (WEWE)- ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT

WEWE, a women-led, faith-based non-governmental organization (NGO), is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill in the positions of Organizational Development Subject Matter Expert (SME) for its USAID funded subaward ‘Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE).’

WEWE wishes to recruit a talented and God-fearing Organizational Development Subject Matter Expert with knowledge on organizational sustainability who believes in local organizations, that not all Nigerians are corrupt but instead believes in the ingenuity of the Nigerian and that the best of the Nigerian can be better than the rest. Someone who shares these ideologies of working together as a team to be the most financially compliant organization in Nigeria and Africa and who see helping vulnerable populations such as widows and orphans as a calling from Almighty God

WEWE is currently a resource partner to Palladium International LLC on the USAID-funded SCALE project, and WEWE would like to fill the position of Organizational Development Subject Matter Expert for the WEWE-SCALE project.

WEWE’s scope of work and roles as resource partner is to conduct an organizational capacity assessment using Organizational capacity assessment tools (OCAT) and the Organizational Performance Index tool, Capacity Development Plans for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and or Business Membership Organizations (BMOs).

Position:                     Organizational Development Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Location:                    The successful candidate will be based in Abuja but will be willing and fit to travel across Nigeria

at short notice

Reports to:                   SCALE Project Director/Executive Director

Job Description

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conducting organizational assessment for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with a focus on organizational sustainability
  • Knowledge on how to use Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT) particularly in sustainability capacity domain.
  • Knowledge on how to write a capacity development plan for local civil society in sustainability.
  • Developing a resource mobilization strategy
  • Developing a succession plan
  • Resource Mobilization Planning, Resource Mobilization Personnel, Knowledge of Theory of Change (ToC)/Value for Money
  • Proposal writing and development, project costing and budget development

Minimum Qualification Requirements:   

  • A graduate with Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma or its equivalent in any social science or related fields.
  • A postgraduate degree will be an added advantage

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Evidence of carrying out organizational capacity assessments for civil society organizations (CSOs)
  • Evidence of developing capacity development plans
  • Minimum of five (5) to Nine (9) years’ experience in Organizational Development duties
  • Well-organized, with the ability to track multiple activities and deadlines
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Evidence of strong report writing skills
  • Must have leadership and governance experience
