The incorporated Trustees of Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is a local non for profit, faith-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), which is seeking two categories of applications for the position of Organizational Development Associate; 1. Applicants who studied law or 2. Applicants who have at least 2 years of experience working in the NGO sector in Monitoring and Evaluation. These applicants will fill in the position of Organizational Development Associate for its USAID funded subaward on a project on ‘Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE)

WEWE wishes to recruit a talented and God-fearing Organizational Development Associate with knowledge of organizational sustainability who believes in local organizations, that not all Nigerians are corrupt but instead believes in the ingenuity of Nigerians, and that the best of Nigerians can be better than the rest. Someone who shares these ideologies of working together as a team to be the most financially compliant organization in Nigeria and Africa and who see helping vulnerable populations such as widows and orphans as a calling from Almighty God

WEWE is currently a resource partner to Palladium International LLC on the USAID-funded SCALE project, and WEWE would like to fill the position of Organizational Development Associate for the WEWE-SCALE project.

WEWE’s scope of work and roles as a resource partner is to conduct an organizational capacity assessment using Organizational capacity assessment tools (OCAT) and the Organizational Performance Index tool, Capacity Development Plans for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and or Business Membership Organizations (BMOs).

Position:         Organizational Development Associate

Location:        The successful candidate will be based in Abuja but will be willing and fit to travel across Nigeria at short notice 

Key Duties & Responsibilities of Organizational Development Associate

  • Assist in conducting organizational assessments for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) with a focus on organizational sustainability
  • Knowledge on how to use Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT), particularly in the sustainability capacity domain.
  • Knowledge of how to write a capacity development plan for local civil society in sustainability.
  • Assist in developing a resource mobilization strategy and succession plans
  • Assist in Resource Mobilization Planning, Resource Mobilization Personnel, Knowledge of Theory of Change (ToC)/Value for Money
  • Assist in proposal writing and development, project costing, and budget development

Minimum Qualification Requirements:   

  • A degree in Law or a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in a related course
  • The applicant must have a second class upper, upper credit, or preferably a first class
  • Experience of work in the NGO sector especially in carrying out organizational capacity assessments or due diligence for civil society organizations (CSOs)
  • At least 2 years of experience working as Monitoring and Evaluation staff for an NGO.
  • Experience identifying organizational capacity gaps and using those gaps to develop an organizational capacity plan.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in Organizational Development duties
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Evidence of strong computer and report writing skills
