Household Economic Strengthening (HES) Consultant
Local Partner Initiative for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, region 2 (LOPIN-2)
Position Summary: The Household Economic Strengthening (HES) Consultant will work with the Program Officers and Implementing Agencies in Imo and Anambra States project location to complete graduation of 70% of beneficiaries in Imo State (8,050) and Anambra State (3,928).
Period of Performance: The Consultant will work for a maximum of 15 work days in each month for five months, effective from May 2, 2017 through September 30, 2017. This will give a total of 75 work days.
Rate per day: NGN15,000
Supervisor: The Household Economic Strengthening will report directly to the Quality Improvement Director
Purpose:
- Increase the number of beneficiaries graduated on the LOPIN-2 project to 70% in both Imo and Anambra States by September 30, 2017
- Improve the process of empowerment and graduation of identified beneficiaries on the LOPIN-2 project in Imo and Anambra States through capacity building of households on business management/financial literacy and education and evidence-based empowerment projects.
Activities:
The Consultant will work with the Program Officers and Implementing Agencies and Community Volunteers to do the following:
- Verify / ascertain the readiness of households already earmarked for graduation in Imo and Anambra States
- Generate a segregated list of households based on vulnerability
- Verify and prioritize identified households for graduation and agree on workable empowerment actions and strategies to graduate the beneficiaries within the next 5 months.
- Develop action plan and budget and implement
- Monitor performance of empowered beneficiaries to determine their progress towards graduation; make necessary mid-stream adjustment as found necessary
- Graduate 8,050 and 3,928 beneficiaries in Imo and Anambra States respectively; through administration of graduation checklist.
- Document the process of empowerment and graduation for further use of LOPIN-2
Deliverables:
- Action Plan for Implementation of Empowerment Project and Graduation.
- Report of Consultancy highlighting the processes adopted for empowerment and graduation and projecting the challenges of each stage and mitigating strategies deployed.
