Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation (WEWE) is a reputable national indigenous non-governmental organization implementing a USAID-funded Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) project called Local Partners Initiative for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria (LOPIN-2) in partnership with local and international organizations as well as different tiers of the Government of Nigeria at national, state, local and levels. WEWE seeks application from qualified persons for the following positions in the USAID-funded LOPIN-2 project:
Job Title: Program Associate (Volunteer 2 Positions)
Location: Port-Harcourt, Rivers State and Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the program team to ensure that all project activities in the state meet effective programming standards and best practices established by WEWE-LOPIN 2 and the Nigerian Government especially the National Standards for Improving the Quality of Life of Vulnerable Children in Nigeria.
- Support program team in ensuring that services provided to vulnerable children are needs based and in line with the National service standard and the PEPFAR guidelines
- Support in Strengthen technical capacity of IAs in OVC programming, service provisions and governance.
- Support Community Improvement Teams activities.
- Participate in project review meetings, project monitoring, reporting and documentation.
Qualification and Experience required:
- A minimum of a university degree in social sciences, Mass Communication or any degree in Social sciences or related field
- Strong communication skills
- Extremely strong computer skills
- Report writing skills
- Fluency in both written and oral English required and ability to speak the local language of the region is desirable.
Job title: Monitoring and Evaluation Associate (Volunteer 2 Positions)
Location: Port-Harcourt, Rivers State and Awka, Anambra State.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support M&E Team to monitor project progress through field visit, sport checks, data collection and PM&E at all levels offer feedback and regular communication with Program staff
- Support in collecting and collating reports from the field sites
- Liaise with field implementers regarding reports on M&E activities in Rivers / Akwa-Ibom States
- Support in routine Data Quality Assurance (DQA) and other assessments as may be directed
Qualification and Experience required:
- A minimum of a university degree in social sciences, or any degree
- Strong communication skills
- Extremely strong computer skills – especially of excel and other statistical packages (but not a very strong requirement)
- Strong editing skill
- Strong report writing skills
- Minimal knowledge and understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation concept
- Fluency in both written and oral English required and ability to speak the local language of the region is desirable.
Job Title: Data Entry Officer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry
- Enter sorted data into NOMIS
- Maintain NOMIS Database for the project.
- Support the documentation of all source documents of services provided and program activities conducted
- Support the M&E officers in the following areas:
- routine data review, verification and validation.
- conducting periodic DQA.
- compilation of Quarterly M&E report.
- monitoring of program activities.
- Maintain hard copy and electronic files of all trainings and meeting attendance/minutes.
- Work closely with the M&E officers to make the beneficiaries’ file cabinets safe and confidential.
- Maintain hard copy and electronic files of the Monthly Summary Forms.
- Store every document in its designated location.
Qualification and Experience required:
- A university degree and HND in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Physics or Pure Sciences or any related field of study
- Research and Evaluation skills
- Demonstrable computer skills especially with use of MS Excel especially for data analysis
- Report writing skills
- Analytical skill
- Experience in similar or related position will be an advantage
Job Title: Finance Officer (Volunteer)
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Data Entry: To assist the finance team to input data into financial reports;
Petty Cash: To serve as petty cash custodian and post petty cash vouchers into QuickBooks;
Retirement: Work with WEWE- LOPIN 2 teams to support their time retirement of program and administrative expenses and also improve in their turnaround time of retirement.
Financial Reports: To assist in scanning and making photocopies of monthly Financial Reports; Review WEWE LOPIN 2 Implementing Agents’ Financial Report Retirements to ensure proper documentation; File financial documents.
Salary Records: To assist in tracking staff leave and medical allowance using Microsoft Excel; Collate and review timesheets in preparation of payroll; Prepare salary schedule, payroll and payslips.
Taxes: To assist in computing staff taxes and process Tax Clearance Certificates; Follow up with tax authority to collect receipts and documentations of tax remitted.
Procurement: To assist in collating quotes from vendors and service providers; Organise Procurement Committee meetings; Prepare Justification Memo for approval of the selected vendors; Obtain payment invoice from selected vendors; Prepare supporting documents for payment.
Travel: To assist in receiving and processing Travel Authorization Form (TAF) & Travel Expenses Statement (TES) submitted by staff and Strengthening WEWE control environment
Qualifications and skills:
- A minimum of HND or B.Sc. in Accounting with a second class upper division is preferred.
- A minimum of ( 2) year experience in Accounting
- Ability to use Quick book accounting software
- Experience working on USAID/PEPFAR funded vulnerable children programs
- Ability to develop budgets for USAID funded projects
Salary Range:
Please kindly note that all volunteer positions will NOT receive salaries. However, every selected volunteer will be given a monthly transport allowance of NGN 40,000 (Forty Thousand Naira) Only.
