Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE), a woman-led, faith-based non-governmental organization (NGO) is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill in the position of Resource Mobilization Associates

Position: Resource Mobilization Associate
Location: The successful candidate must be based in Abuja
Position Summary: The Resource Mobilization Associate will provide capacity-building support in resource mobilization for local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), conduct capacity assessments, develop, and implement resource mobilization plans for local organizations. Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Resource Mobilization Associate will:
- Conduct resource mobilization assessments of WEWE and local organizations using USAID Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT) in the resource mobilization domain.
- Develop resource mobilization strategies and plans for WEWE and local organizations from the gaps identified in the resource mobilization assessments
- Conduct a mapping of potential and current donors
- Develop a donor mapping report and database for WEWE and local organizations
- Conduct Crowd Funding Campaigns on several online Crowd fundraising sites; Global giving; GoFundMe.
- Build and negotiate placement of donation boxes in places of high human transaction traffic
- Identify and negotiate positions on consortium applications (Assist local NGOs to search for Large NGOs that are applying for large grants and facilitating opportunities for the local NGO to secure a position in the consortium large bids)
- Search for funding opportunities on the world wide web
- Write full proposal, concept note, or expression of interest are submitted.
- Develop a social media strategy and content development to take the NGO activities online to have a footprint or a significant social media presence.
- Organize fundraising dinners or fund-raising events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree of equivalent (Higher National Diploma) in any discipline
- Must have a second class upper, 2.1 or first class for bachelor’s degree and or an upper credit for High National Diploma (HND) or distinction.
- Must be technology Suave, have strong computer skills and be fast at typing using Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of and experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, other presentation software such as PREZI (www.prezi.com), Shutterstock, Corel draw and the use of the infographic and visual art will be an added advantage
- Must have the ability to write well in the English Language
- Strong marketing skills and experience promoting products, good or program strategies for local organization they are working for (i.e., marketing skills are relevant, if you have experience marketing goods and products this can be adapted for this job)
- Must be an extremely outgoing, friendly, and very confident person who can easily approach people such as clients and donor organizations to carry out fund raising activities (i.e., experience ‘Selling market” and having to write a letter requesting donations or payment for goods and services will be very useful)
- Ability to network and connect with decision makers, relevant donors or decision-makers that have access to funding.
- Ability to communicate well, write, produce information materials to convince clients or customers such as local and international organizations to buy into your ideas.
- A creative, artist, innovative mind that has a lot of ideas and ability to think out-of-the-box to develop proposal pitches, short videos, and visual graphic design and layout of presentation for proposals.
- Ability to gather relevant information to help you to write a fundable proposal
- Ability to search for relevant funding opportunities online (i.e., they must be familiar with searching the world wide web using search engines)
- Strong social media skills, blogging, managing WhatsApp Groups and understanding how to collaborate with social media influencers
- Effective communication skills. The applicant must have the ability to know how to communicate through phone calls, email, and text to get donors’ attention.
- Ability to be consistent and able to follow up phone calls with reminders.
- Ability to approach philanthropists to submit a request for funds
- Skills to engage social media to position your organization to have a large social media presence and space.
