CULINARY CHEF
The Incorporated Trustees of Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization [hereinafter referred to as “Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE)”] a local not for profit, faith based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill in the positions of Culinary Chef
The organization’s core ideologies are: We believe that;
- The change the world wants to see may be hidden in the life and destiny of an OVC.
- One child who is an orphan or vulnerable child could be the one that has the destiny to positively change a Nation such as Nigeria.
- We can be used by God to significantly contribute to improving the lives of millions of widows, orphans, vulnerable children & other vulnerable populations in Nigeria & Africa.
- We need to be the best and continually strive to beat our yesterday’s performance.
- In this Nation Nigeria, we have highly skilled Nigerian professionals that can come together to show forth our spirit of excellence and ingenuity.
- We want to be the most financially clean and compliant local NGO in Nigeria and Africa.
- We want to prove to the world that not all Nigerian NGOs are corrupt and we want to be an example (An Ambassador) of a credible NGO in Nigeria and Africa.
WEWE wishes to recruit a talented and God fearing Culinary Chef who believes in local organizations, that not all Nigerian’s are corrupt but instead believes in the ingenuity of the Nigerian and that the best of the Nigerian can be better than the rest. Someone who shares this ideologies and who sees helping vulnerable populations such as widows and OVC as a calling from the Almighty God.
Position: Culinary Chef
Location: The successful candidate will be based in Abuja
- S/he will be responsible for preparing, and presentation of meals and dishes in ways that suit the requirements or orders that are placed by staff.
- The Chef will be specializes in the preparation of specific meals like salads, desserts, and pastries for staff and meetings
- The chef determines the quantity of food that will be needed within a particular time frame.
- S/he will also makes adjustments to the menu based on the availability of food items or the current season.
- S/he will regularly clean and sanitize work equipment like fryers and various kitchen surfaces.
- S/he will be willing to work at odd hours, like very early in the morning to prepare meals for the day, and to clean-up after the day’s work.
- S/he will makes sure that the kitchen is well-organized at all times.
- S/he will ensure that food is prepared as fast as possible and that a standard taste-level is maintained.
- S/he will maintains records, places necessary orders, and makes sure that food safety standards are adhered to.
- S/he will makes sure that she adhere to all set standards
- The chef will always initiate new ideas either in cooking methods or in service delivery.
- S/he will organize training for group of people on catering service from time to time
- S/he will also cook for official meetings
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma in Culinary and Hospitality Management or its equivalent in any social science or related fields
- A minimum of one (1) year previous work experience in catering
