Data collection and analysis software expert (Short-Term)
The Incorporated Trustees of Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE), a woman-led, faith-based non-governmental organization (NGO) is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of Data Collection and Analysis Software Expert.

Position: Data Collection and Analysis Software Expert
Location: Rivers State
Position Summary: The consultant applicant will conduct training for WEWE’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team on any of the various online data collection tools and data analysis software and statistical packages such as Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), Statistical Software for Data Science (STATA), KoboCollect, Epi-info, Nvivo, offline DCT ODK based Ecosystem, SurveyCTO, Dimagi, Magpi, SocialCops, Dharma and TaroWorks), and Apps development.
Applicants should highlight their monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning skills and experience in their curriculum vitae.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Consultant will:
S/he will conduct training for the WEWE M&E team on any of these Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), Statistical Software for Data Science (STATA), KoboCollect, Epi-info, Nvivo, offline DCT ODK-based Ecosystem, SurveyCTO, Dimagi, Magpi, SocialCops, Dharma and TaroWorks), and Apps development.
S/he will conduct training on how to translate results of statistical analysis of variances and interpret analyzed data into reports using pie charts, graphs, and infographics. The consultant should have experience in research and the use of analyzed data to provide information to senior or top management in an organization on projections and trends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or a master’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science / Information Technology.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 6 – 8 years of experience in a Business Intelligence (BI), data science, or analyst role in an organization.
- Knowledge of applied statistics, specifically experimental design, and study with statistics packages e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, Python, etc.
- Knowledge of data science techniques, such as machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and statistical modeling.
- Knowledge of Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping and spatial data analysis tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.) is desirable.
- Knowledge of cloud computing for deploying models (AWS, Microsoft Azure. Google Cloud, etc.) is a plus.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and working with data visualization tools e.g. Tableau, and Power (BI).
- Prior experience with the development of data pipelines and automation e.g. ETL, APIs, etc.
- Proficiency in using programming skills in Python and/or R to perform data analysis.
- Strong NumPy/ PANDAS skills and SQL database usage.
- Experience with mobile data collection tools e.g., ODK, and Kobo, is desirable.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to think outside the box.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on taking a data-focus approach.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, self-start, contribute under pressure, and meet tight deadlines
