URGENT VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT IN WIDOWS AND ORPHANS EMPOWERMENT ORGANIZATION (WEWE) – ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT (OD)/ MONITORING and EVALUATION SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME)


WEWE, a women-led, faith-based non-governmental organization (NGO), is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill in the positions of Organization Development (OD)/Monitoring and Evaluation Subject Matter Expert (SME) for its USAID funded sub-award ‘Strengthening Civic Advocacy and Local Engagement (SCALE).’

WEWE wishes to recruit a talented and God-fearing OD/M&E SME who believes in local organizations, that not all Nigerians are corrupt but instead believes in the ingenuity of the Nigerian and that the best of the Nigerian can be better than the rest. Someone who shares these ideologies of working together as a team to be the most financially compliant organization in Nigeria and Africa and who see helping vulnerable populations such as widows and orphans as a calling from Almighty God

WEWE is currently a resource partner to Palladium International LLC on the USAID-funded SCALE project, and WEWE would like to fill the position of Organization Development (OD)/Monitoring and Evaluation Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the WEWE-SCALE project.

WEWE’s scope of work and roles as resource partner is to conduct an organizational capacity assessment using Organizational capacity assessment tools (OCAT) and the Organizational Performance Index tool, Capacity Development Plans for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and or Business Membership Organizations (BMOs).

Position:                     Organization Development (OD)/Monitoring and Evaluation Subject Matter Expert (SME)  SCALE project

Location:                     The successful candidate will be based in Abuja but will be willing and fit to travel across Nigeria at short notice

Reports to:                 SCALE Project Director/Executive Director

Position Summary:    The Organization Development (OD)/Monitoring and Evaluation

Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be based in Abuja and be responsible for conducting assessments in the area of Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Performance Management, Organizational Management, Systems and Structures, and other areas as applicable. In additional responsibilities in report writing. Therefore report writing skills are a mandatory requirement

Reports to: SCALE Team Leader/Manager

Job Description

  • Conducting organizational assessment for local Nigerian Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and BMOs
  • Use Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT) and Organizational performance index to assess CSOs/BMOs
  • Write Assessment reports
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and training to CSOs/BMOs
  • Develop capacity development plan for local CSOs/BMOs
  • Contributing to writing performance reports for Palladium on a monthly and quarterly basis and other program deliverables.
  • Perform M&E functions and roles.

Minimum Requirements:   

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in a relevant field
  • A Postgraduate diploma or a Master’s Degree in a relevant course will be an added advantage
  • Five years experience in monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience in the use of data entry forms using google forms, Koboconnect will be an added advantage
  • Experience carrying out data analysis added advantage
  • Experience carrying out analysis of variance and statistical analysis
  • Evidence of conducting organizational capacity assessments for local civil society organizations (CSOs)
  • Evidence of developing capacity development plans
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in Organizational Development duties
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team approach.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Good report writing skills.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Organizational development
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation practices, methods, tools, and guidelines
  • Data management and analysis skills
  • Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Access and Excel
  • Team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Be willing to undertake regular field visits.
