Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is a legally registered incorporated Trustees, a women-led, a local not-for-profit, faith-based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill in the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Volunteerin response to a proposal for USAID-funded project

WEWE’s core ideology is to be one of the most financially compliant and clean NGOs in Nigeria and Africa and we want to improve the lives of millions of widows and orphans in Nigeria and Africa.

WEWE wishes to recruit a talented and God-fearing Monitoring and Evaluation Volunteer who believes in local organizations, that not all Nigerians are corrupt but instead believes in the ingenuity of the Nigerian and that the best of the Nigerian can be better than the rest.

Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) uphold non-poaching ethics where we do not accept applications from organizations that we are in collaboration with – without the express consent from the head of the organization, particularly from any organization we are currently working with to strengthen their capacity. Therefore, an applicant applying for this position from an organization that is in a form of partnership or collaboration with WEWE, should disclose and give us a letter from the head of the organization which states that they are highly recommending their staff and why they will permit the staff to leave the organization to volunteer for WEWE for 12 months.

Position:                              Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Volunteer (2)

Location:                             The successful candidate will be based in FCT or Ebonyi

Duration:                            12 months

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • S/he will assist to implement and oversee M&E activities, under the guidance of the project manager
  • S/he will assist to provide technical direction for documentation of activities on the project S/he will assist in data collection, input, and analysis
  • S/he will assist in reports and ensures results for project activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • First degree in a relevant field i.e., statistics, mathematics, or any relevant field, plus a minimum of 2 years institutional experience and expertise in M&E.
  • Experience using M&E software such as Excel, Kobo Connect, DHIS2, and other open-source platforms.
  • Strong Report Writing skills – Consultant must provide evidence of  previous report written and references that can attest to your report writing skills
  • Experience in M&E for an International donor project/sub-project is highly desirable.
  • Experience in data analysis and report writing.
  • Excellent English writing skills.

EXPENSES

WEWE Volunteers are not eligible for salaries and employee benefits. However, a daily rate of N4,000 naira per day would be paid to cover transportation costs to and fro the office subject to statutory deductions.
