VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT IN WIDOWS AND ORPHANS EMPOWERMENT ORGANISATION (WEWE).

The Incorporated Trustees of Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation [hereinafter referred to as “(WEWE)” a women-led, local not-for-profit Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in Abuja, Nigeria, is seeking the services of an experienced and results-oriented Microsoft Excel and Power BI Tutor on a short-term consultancy basis.

Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation (WEWE) is committed to improving the well-being of widows, orphans, vulnerable women and children, and underserved communities through sustainable interventions across health, education, livelihoods, gender equality, social protection, and community development. As part of its commitment to strengthening organizational effectiveness and staff capacity, WEWE seeks to engage a qualified tutor to provide practical training in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for staff in its Abuja and Rivers State offices.

WEWE wishes to recruit a talented, God-fearing professional who has a passion for capacity development and believes in empowering local organizations through knowledge transfer and skills enhancement. We are looking for someone who has integrity, recognizes Nigerians’ ingenuity, and believes that the best of Nigeria can be better than the rest.

This position is being recruited based on merit. We do not have a pre-existing candidate and genuinely seek the best candidate to add value to the organisation.

Position:            Microsoft Excel and Power BI Tutor

Location:           The successful candidate will be based in Abuja

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Science, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or any related field from a recognized institution.
  • Professional certifications in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related fields will be an added advantage.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or similar certification is highly desirable.
  • Additional certifications in training, facilitation, or adult learning methodologies will be an advantage.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience in teaching, training, coaching, or facilitating Microsoft Excel and Power BI courses.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering practical, hands-on training to professionals in NGOs, private sector organizations, government institutions, or development organizations.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions, pivot tables, dashboards, data analysis, automation, and reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including data modeling, data visualization, dashboard development, report creation, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience developing training materials, exercises, assessments, and practical learning tools.
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex concepts and adapt training methods to varying levels of learner expertise.
  • Technology-savvy with strong digital literacy skills.

 Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess the current knowledge and skill levels of WEWE staff in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Develop a comprehensive training plan, curriculum, and learning materials tailored to the needs of WEWE staff.
  • Deliver practical and interactive training sessions on Microsoft Excel, covering topics such as formulas, functions, data management, data analysis, pivot tables, dashboards, charts, reporting, and advanced Excel tools.
  • Deliver practical and interactive training sessions on Microsoft Power BI, covering data importation, transformation, modeling, visualization, dashboard creation, report development, and business intelligence applications.
  • Provide hands-on exercises, case studies, assignments, and practical demonstrations to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Support staff in applying Excel and Power BI tools to real organizational data and reporting needs.
  • Evaluate participants’ learning progress through assessments, practical exercises, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Prepare and submit training reports, including participant performance, recommendations, and areas for further capacity development.
  • Provide post-training support and guidance where necessary to reinforce learning and application of acquired skills.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure the training aligns with organizational strategic plan, objectives and staff development goals.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to WEWE’s policies, values, and ethical standards throughout the consultancy period
  • Perform any other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor.
