SHORT-TERM CONSULTANCY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation (WEWE) is seeking applications from qualified professionals for two (2) days short-term consultancy roles: Quantity Surveyor, Civil and Structural Engineer, Urban Planner, and Architect.

Key Responsibilities for the two-day short-term consultancy role: 

To review the developers’ proposals in accordance with your area of expertise.

  1. Position:            Quantity Surveyor

Qualifications/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Estate Management, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN) is required.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) is highly desirable.
  • Professional certifications in project management, construction management, procurement, or contract administration will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of housing development, real estate projects, and social housing initiatives will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of proven professional experience in quantity surveying, cost management, and construction project administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in real estate, infrastructure, or large-scale development projects. 
  1. Position:            Civil and Structural Engineer

Qualifications/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is required.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and other relevant professional bodies is highly desirable.
  • A Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications in project management, construction management, structural design, or related disciplines will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of proven professional experience in civil and structural engineering, construction supervision, and infrastructure development.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of housing estates, residential developments, infrastructure projects, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Experience in preparing engineering designs, technical specifications, drawings, and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Revit, or similar design and analysis tools. 
  1. Position:            Urban Planner

Qualifications/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Town Planning, Urban Development, Environmental Planning, Geography, Architecture, Land Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria (TOPREC) is required.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP) is highly desirable.
  • A Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Sustainable Development, Housing Development, Smart Cities Planning, or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Smart City Planning, Environmental Planning, Project Management, or related disciplines will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of housing development, real estate projects, social housing initiatives, and smart city concepts will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of proven professional experience in urban and regional planning, land-use planning, housing development, and infrastructure planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning residential estates, smart cities, housing developments, urban renewal projects, or large-scale community development initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian urban planning laws, development control regulations, environmental standards, and planning best practices.
  • Proficiency in GIS applications, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, QGIS, and other urban planning and mapping software. 
  1. Position:            Architect

Qualifications/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) is required.
  • Membership of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA) is highly desirable.
  • A Master’s Degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Sustainable Design, Housing Development, or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certifications in Project Management, Sustainable Building Design, Smart City Development, Green Building, or related disciplines will be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of proven professional experience in architectural design, housing development, estate development, and construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and supervision of residential estates, housing schemes, mixed-use developments, or large-scale community development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of building design, site planning, sustainable architecture, universal accessibility standards, and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in architectural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, 3D Max, or similar applications.
